We did it! More photos here. On the Tuesday of the Bank Holiday a group of ladies went and entertained some of the patients at the Whitstable and Tankerton hospital.
During 2012 we also entrained Bradbury Grange Care Home and Whitstable Age UK. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this with some of the ladies joining in with the singing and dancing.
Adopted Beach at Seasalter
During 2012 we have managed to collect 117.4kgs or 258.3lbs of rubbish from the beach. We had a barbecue in the summer and a Christmas beach clean with mulled wine and mince pies to end the last beach clean in 2012. Looking forward to more joining us during 2013.
Christmas Party 2012
This year was a great evening with every table decorated in an individual style. They ranged from Black/White and Gold to the Christmas Red’s and Green’s. Everyone supplied their own food for each table, so everyone had something they liked. The evening ended with Pat’s magic chair game and a singsong.
Birthday Party 2012
Our President provided the use of her garden for this event. It was a lovely evening at least we picked a night when it was not raining. The food was lovely and especially the delicious desserts. We all had a bit of exercise before the food when we were rushing around the garden looking for the clues to a station game. We had a great time with the chocolate fountain, fruit and marshmallows, lovely.
Walks
Every month we go for a walk. A great social event and a chance to keep fit too! Photos can be seen here.
Social Evenings
These events are becoming more and more popular 2012 has seen us trying Line Dancing, Craft evenings – including lace making, glass painting, sugarcraft, knitting, crochet and shrink art. We have also had bingo and beetle drive evenings. The Wine Tasting evening and ten pin bowling nights were also enjoyed by all that attended.
Trips
Last year there were loads of trips organised by the committee to a variety of places ranging from Buckingham Palace and the West End.
More fun....(draising)
.....and we do special events such as afternoon teas, themed lunches and sweet stalls to raise funds for the Institute.
Useful Seasalter Cross WI information
We meet once a month on the 3rd Tuesday at 7.45pm at the WI hall on Joy Lane, Seasalter. We meet for social evenings every 1st Tuesday of the month where you can get a chance to chit chat and get to know other members a bit better.
Jerusalem
And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountains green And was the Holy Lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures seen.
And did the Countenance Divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills And was Jerusalem builded here Among those dark satanic mills.
